The parents who sat in on the lessons (even if they knew NOTHING about piano or music themselves) -
they were the ones whose students FLEW through their songs.
In some cases, I have sent videos of the lesson to the parents who could not be present, so they could support their student's practice. And their students learn SO FAST.
SO THEN I THOUGHT...
What's the difference between that, and an online course with complete video lessons?
Absolutely NOTHING!

Play colorful games that correspond with each lesson to reinforce concepts and keep the learning FUN!

As a former K-12 teacher, I am professionally trained in creating detailed lesson plans. Each lesson plan thoroughly outlines the objective of each lesson, all components to be used within the lesson (including video, audio, games, activity pages, and more), and includes detailed step-by-step sample practice instructions for each song so students make the most of their practice time.
Each lesson is designed to introduce something new and build upon the previous lesson. Answer keys are provided for every activity. Music theory is presented with fun illustrations to capture young children's attention; listening activities; coloring activities; tracing and drawing activities; playful songs to learn, and more - specifically designed with the very young learner in mind.
Every video is designed to emulate quality, in-person lessons, just as if you and your student were sitting in my music studio. Videos are interactive, allowing opportunities to pause the video and complete an activity or play a part of a song before resuming. Specific videos are also dedicated to demonstrating proper technique - a must in piano. Imagine paying $40 per lesson for 52 weeks in a year for in-person lessons! You get the same instruction for a tiny fraction of that cost!
Frequent listening helps accelerate the learning process! All songs are recorded on my Yamaha grand piano so students can listen to the songs they are learning and become familiar with how they should sound.
Multiple ear-training exercises and rhythm activities incorporated throughout the course utilize recordings to help enhance learning and engagement.
Easily access a reference document with all notes, key names, terms, definitions and lessons that explain them - all at a glance.
All my favorite music games customized to align with specific lessons - printable and ready to download! Games are my secret to engaging fidgety and easily-distracted students. They all LOVE the games! Keep learning fun and exciting with music games that build skills of rhythm, note reading, key identification, and more.
A document and detailed video explaining simple yet powerful practice techniques to help you accomplish more progress in less time!
Don't have a piano yet? No worries! In this document, I walk you through the differences between pianos and keyboards, what to look for when buying a piano or keyboard (used or new), and I recommend some brands and specific instruments at various price points to fit your needs and budget. Selecting an instrument doesn't have to be overwhelming!
If you're in the world of music education for even just a few days, you'll hear reference to a metronome - it's that important! In this video, I explain what the metronome is and how to use it to help your student's songs sound the best they can be.
Help your student track their progress with a fun sticker chart with illustrations from each of their songs to learn. Consider offering rewards for a certain number of songs completed to keep your student motivated to learn!
Help your student see their hard work daily by providing this weekly practice tracker. Students can check off which days they have practiced for the week. Consider offering a small incentive for reaching a certain number of days practiced each week!
