Frequently Asked Questions

 Do I need to have knowledge of music in order to use this course with my child?

Great question - and no, you do not! :) I developed this curriculum specifically for families with no musical background, so that the content can be accessible to ANYONE, no matter their experience. Each lesson in explained simply, with answer keys for all activities, and videos to explain everything in a step-by-step way. No prior music experience is needed!

 How do I know if my child is ready?

Another great question - and one I get asked a lot. My answer usually is: Does the child desire to learn? If there is a desire, then they are likely ready. And remember, once purchased, you have LIFETIME access to this course, so you can always try again in six months or a year if your child ends up needing more time.

 Can I use this course with multiple children?

YES! That's another great benefit of this online course: you can use this same course with multiple children at no extra cost (whereas with private lessons, you must, of course, pay for each student). I do, however, ask that you restrict your use of this course only to your immediate family, and please do not share your login credentials or any course content outside of your immediate family.

 My child is very fidgety and can't sit still - can this course work for them?

YES! I believe wholeheartedly that ANY child, if they have the desire, can learn piano. I have many students in my studio who are fidgety, high-energy, and have trouble sitting still. That's why I incorporate numerous music games to keep them engaged and having fun while learning - and all my favorite games are included for download and printing within this course!

 How long will each lesson take?

Lessons vary in length, depending on the amount of information covered and the difficulty level. You can customize each lesson to fit the needs of your student. You can stop after 10 minutes if your child has trouble focusing for longer. Unlike traditional lessons, this course is completely self-paced to fit your needs - feel free to stop each lesson at any time and continue when your student feels ready to proceed.

 Will this course REALLY take one year to complete?

This course is designed to be completed over the course of about one year for an average student. This is based on my experience teaching a wide range of students with varying talents, abilities, and practice habits. That said, please keep in mind that every child is different (and there is a very large gap between 4-year olds and 7-year olds). Some students may finish more quickly, and some may take longer. What matters most is that students are allowed to go at their own pace and feel proud of their progress, no matter the timeframe.
